Terms Of Renting

General Terms:

Minimum Rental Period: 1 day (24 hours).

*The minimum rental period for cruise ship clients is four (4) hours. 

Age Limits: The minimum age limit for all our rental cars is 25 years of age wheareas the maximum age limit for all our rental cars is 75 years of age.

Driver's License: All the potential drivers must hold a valid driving license that has been issued at least a year ago before the actual car rental and is valid in Greece. If a driving license has been lost prior to the actual rental start, an official copy of the license from the local DVLA office is acceptable.

* Kefalonia-rentacar.com keeps the right to cancel a car rental if no driving license is shown on the first day of rental without being liable for any kind of compensation to the renter.

Baby/Booster Seats: The baby and booster seats are provided at an additional daily fee of 3.00 Euro. Please do notice that the baby seats are available in one size only (for 10 months up to three year old children). Due of responsibility issues, baby seats have to be fitted by the renter.

Deposit: For safety reasons, the main driver (or any additional driver stated on the rental contract) must present a valid credit card (Visa or Mastercard) on the first day of rental.

Insurance:

Rates include the following covers:

• For death or injury to third parties up to 500.000 Euro.
• For material damages to third parties up to 100.000 euro, excluding kefalonia-rentacar.com vehicles.
• Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.): The renter is responsible for any kind of damage (due of the renter's fault) to the rented car up to the amount of 500.00 Euro for car categories A - C, 600.00 Euro for car categories C1 - F and 800.00 Euro for car categories F1 - K. The wheels and the undercarriage of the rental cars are not included in this insurance policy. The above terms apply provided the damage is not due to violations of the Greek traffice law.
• Tyre Insurance: Punctured or unrepaired tyres will be replaced free of charge on all vehicles. Kindly notice that the tyre insurance does not apply if the vehicle is driven with a flat tyre.
• Fire & Theft insurance.
• 24 hours breakdown assistance on the islands of Kefalonia & Ithaca.

*Kefalonia-rentacar.com does not provide a full insurance waiver for any of its rental cars.

The insurance provided is not valid and the renter is responisble for damages when:

• The driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• The car is driven on non-paved roads (4X4 vehicles are excluded).
• The car is driven with a flat tyre.
• The driver participates in extemporary car races or drives recklessly.
• The driver exceeds the speed limits.
• The driver uses fuel different to the one recommended by the manufacturer.
• The car is driven by a person that is not stated on the rental contract.
• The driver does not return the car on the date and time agreed by the rental lease.

Additional Explanations:

• All insurances are valid only on the islands of Kefalonia,Ithaca and Zakynthos (Zante). 
• All traffic fines must be paid by the renter.
• The fuel (gas or petrol) is paid for by the renter.
• Bookings are made by car category and not by car type/model.
